Most people do not realize the amount of time and energy that goes into planning the construction of a structure. It is not as simple as deciding that you want to put something up and then hiring people to build it for you. There is actually a tremendous amount of preparation that takes place before a single shovel of dirt is moved.
The Complexities of Construction

Marine Engineering
July 21st, 2009Marine engineering is something some people haven’t heard of or, if they have, they have no idea exactly what it entails. Marine engineering is actually a very broad field that can cover a very wide array of jobs, including designing, building, installing, and even operating systems and equipment on various marine vessels and vehicles. Generally, these systems and equipment are related to the vessel’s engines and navigation systems, but they can also be part of the structural systems that support the crew and the cargo of the vessel. Most often, marine engineers are in the military, specifically the navy.

UK Construction and Design Rules
June 3rd, 2009If you are in the construction industry in the United Kingdom, then you will need to be very familiar with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations. These are important rules for anyone who is looking to build in the U.K. These rules were implemented by the Health and Safety Executive’s Construction Division in order to make sure that there was a higher level of safety that was introduced to the process of construction. In order to assure that projects (especially larger ones) are being completely compliant with these rules and regulations there needs to be a person who is responsible for making sure that everything on the construction site is completely compliant.
